WWE Night of Champions 2013 - Predictions

WWE Championship Match
Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan

As much as I and anyone with a brain would like Daniel Bryan to win this match, unfortunately there is only one pick and that's Randy Orton, until John Cena is back Vince and the creative team seem intent on keeping Daniel Bryan down and not quite giving him the belt. Despite being far and away the most popular guy on the roster as well as being the best wrestler in the world, it seems the WWE is just not quite ready to give Bryan the top spot. I really hope I am wrong on this one, but for storyline purposes Randy Orton wins this, or at the least walks away with the belt. The only way Bryan wins is by disqualification.

Winner: Randy Orton

CM Punk vs. Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel & Paul Heyman (Handicap Elimination Match)

I expect that CM Punk wins this, maybe by disqualification after being attacked by Brock Lesnar or another debuting "Paul Heyman Guy". I just cant see Heyman going into this match without a plan.

Winner: CM Punk

World Heavyweight Championship
Alberto Del Rio vs. Rob Van Dam

RVD is one of the most over guys on the roster right now, but his limited appearance contract would suggest that they wont give him the belt as he wont do the travelling that comes with being the WHC. So I would expect ADR to take this, perhaps after Ricardo turns heel again and stabs RVD in the back. The only way RVD wins is by disqualification. So one way or another ADR walks away with the belt.

Winner: Alberto Del Rio

Divas Championship:
AJ Lee vs. Natalya vs. Brie Bella vs. Naomi (Fatal 4-Way Match)

It makes sense for one of the Total Divas stars to win this since that show is getting great ratings on the E! Network, and this will be filmed for that. You can count out Naomi as she is the rookie in this, so that leaves Nattie and Brie. I think the fact that Nikki Bella is injured, and Total Divas will be covering John Cenas recovery from injury too, that Brie will be part of that so wont win the belt either. That leaves Nattie.

She has been held back for way too long now, so perhaps this is her chance to finally lead the Diva division.
She comes across well on Total Divas, and with Tyson Kidd coming back soon, there is a lot of potential in giving Nattie the belt.

Winner: Natalya Neidhart

Tag Team Turmoil No. 1 Contender’s Match
The Prime Time Players vs. The Usos vs. Tons of Funk vs. The Real Americans vs. 3MB

This match will be part of the pre-show with the winners facing off against The Shield later in the night.
I think you can discount Tons of Funk and 3MB, purely since they haven't been pushed recently.
The Usos already had their shot, so although they will be favourites I dont think they win this. That leaves Cesaro/Swagger and O'Neil/Young. The Prime Time Players have had a decent push recently, where as The Real Americans have been losing singles matches against the likes of Santino Marella, so it makes no sense for them to win.

With Darren Young making a lot of media appearances recently since coming out as gay, it makes sense to use that momentum and put the tag belts on the PTP, if only to help with the Be A Star anti-bullying campaign, as well as give Young the belt to wear when he appears on TV shows.

The PTP have been a solid tag team for a long time now, and deserve the tag belts, if they can get past the Shield last in the night.

Winners: Prime Time Players

Tag Team Championship
The Shield vs. Winners of Tag Team Turmoil

Well I have already said what I expect to happen. The PTP face off against The Shield, and perhaps with a bit of help from a returning Mark Henry, or The Big Show I expect the PTP to leave the arena as Tag Team Champions, it could be a great moment if done well, as well as re-introduce Mark Henry back into proceedings after his Ham String injury. Also gives The Big Show revenge on The Shield after they beat him down on Raw and Smackdown.

Now if I am wrong about the winners of the Tag Team Turmoil match, then expect The Shield to win this.

Winners: Prime Time Players
