KGW Interview with Ric Flair

by JEREMY MARKOVICH / NBC Charlotte

"CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Ric Flair is not known for being soft spoken. But when the hall of fame wrestler visited North Korea in 1995, he kept his mouth shut.

Flair was one of several American wrestlers to visit Pyongyang as part of a WCW event called “Collision in Korea.”

While there, Flair says the government cut off phone access to the outside world, confiscated his passport and asked him to make an anti-American statement, which he refused to do.
He also wrestled in front of a crowd of 190,000 in Pyongyang, which could be the largest crowd ever to witness a wrestling match.

Flair talked about his trip in the above video, and about spending time with legendary boxer Muhammad Ali, who also flew with him to North Korea."
